A double-blind trial reported on 3rd January 2017 in the journal Nutrients found positive association between supplementation with the antioxidant resveratrol, and improvements in brain function, memory and anxiety.
Researchers at the University of Newcastle in New South Wales gave postmenopausal women 75mg resveratrol twice daily for 14 weeks. Tests to evaluate memory & mood were performed at the beginning and end of the study. Resveratrol supplementation was associated with 17% increased blood flow to the brain during memory tests & resulted in improved overall cognitive performance, as well as improved memory. Anxiety was also significantly reduced in women who received resveratrol.
