Do you have trouble going to sleep? Do you use an electronic device at night? Devices like e-readers, iPads, mobile phones and laptops emit a short wavelength light which has a concentration of blue light. Melatonin is that wonderful hormone which puts us to sleep at night. A recent study done at the Boston Brigham and women’s hospital showed that using such a device within 4 hours of going to bed reduces our blood Melatonin levels by 55%. People who used the e-reader in the evening took more time to get to sleep, had less rapid eye movement sleep, and were more tired in the morning.
